Small Schools Resource Center
The Small Schools Resource Center (SSRC) is a project of the Los Angeles Coalition of Essential Schools (LACES). The project was developed specifically to support new small public schools, either chartered or large comprehensive schools seeking to reconfigure themselves as multiple autonomous small schools.
We provide extensive resources, technical support, assistance, and networking in Four Focus Areas, 1) school design and culture, 2) leadership, 3) classroom practice, and, 4) community connections, for school personnel, students, and community members. This allows the Center to support schools flexibly as they consider different approaches to create and sustain small schools that work for their students, community, and teachers. In addition, we provide support and assistance for district office personnel to support these small school efforts.
